Delete your account

How to ask

1. Email support@gstinvoice.in from the email address you sign in with, with the subject "Delete my GSTInvoice account".
2. Tell us your company name, and whether you want to delete only your own user or the whole company account.
3. We reply to confirm, and may ask a question to make sure the request is really from you.
4. Once confirmed, we delete the data within 30 days and email you when it is done.

Who can delete what

• A company's administrator can ask us to delete the whole company account: every user, and all its business data.
• Any other user can ask us to delete their own user account. The company's records stay, because they belong to the company; ask your administrator if you want them removed.

What is deleted

• your user account: name, email, mobile number and password;
• for a company account, all its business data: company profile, customers, suppliers, items, stock, invoices, quotations, orders, purchases, receipts, expenses and reports;
• your sign-ins on every device, including the mobile app.

What is kept, and for how long

• copies in our backups, which are overwritten within 90 days of deletion;
• the invoices we issued to you for your GSTInvoice plan, and payment records, kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require (in India, generally up to 8 years).

Your own GST records may need to be kept for several years under GST law. Export them before you ask, because deleted data cannot be recovered.

Deleting some data without closing your account

You can delete individual records, such as invoices, customers or items, yourself in the web app or the mobile app, as your role allows. Some records cannot be deleted once others depend on them (for example an invoice that has a receipt); the app tells you why. For anything else, write to us.
